Short Biography (Gisa)
Gisa Foyer was born on May 7, 1985 in Rostock, Germany. She studied civil engineering at the Technische Universität Braunschweig and received her doctoral degree from the same university in 2013 for her dissertation on the experimental and numerical study of wave interaction with porous bonded revetments.
Since 2013, she has worked in the field of solid mechanics at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) with a focus on the MN force range and the MN∙m torque range. Among other things, she has managed the EMPIR-project “Torque measurement in the MN∙m range” from 2015 to 2018 which dealt with traceability issues of wind testing facilities for their torque measurement in the MN∙m range. Within the framework of this project she has designed a force lever system which can be used to calibrate torque measurements in wind testing facilities.
Short Biography (Holger)
Holger Kahmann was born on January 31, 1980 in Helmstedt, Germany. He passed his technical training as physics laboratory assistant 2001 at the Physikalisch-Technische-Bundesanstalt (PTB) with an Helmholtz distinction. After that he studied mechanical engineering in the specializations construction and development at the Fachhochschule Braunschweig Wolfenbüttel and received 2008 his Dipl.-Ing (FH).
Since 2008, he has been working at the PTB in the work groups performing force and torque as a design engineer. His area of responsibility is the development of new measuring devices. He is currently involved in the development of a new torque measuring device in the MN·m measuring range.
