OPTICAL MEASUREMENT SYSTEM FOR QUALITY CONTROL OF PLASTICS

Abstract:
An optical system to measure the degree of curing of extruded plastics will be presented. The setup consists of a mercury vapour UV–lamp and filters, so that the fluorescence and the phosphorescence of the specimen can be measured. In the luminescence spectrum the information about the curing ratio is quantified. Theoretical disquisitions and preliminary measurement results will be presented in this contribution.
